vector-i has signed the Circular Architecture Manifesto of the Association of Dutch Architects (BNA). By doing so, vector-i endorses the five design principles of the manifesto and the ambition for the built environment in the Netherlands to be fully circular by 2050.

vector-i aims to contribute to the shift in thinking regarding resource scarcity and climate change. When designing a building for disassembly, we consider the different lifespans of each component and ensure that certain parts can be replaced independently. As the orchestrator of the construction process, we strive to involve clients and other stakeholders in this circular approach and provide circular alternatives whenever possible.
In terms of energy efficiency, we strive for short cycles with low consumption. While steel can always be recycled, the reuse of original components is preferred. For products such as concrete, insulated glass, and bonded materials, there are currently no circular alternatives, but we are committed to accelerating their development from our role as architects.
